The Historical Rillington Study Group will be returning to The Bothies at Scampston during the next community open weekend.

Our successful Spring exhibition was enjoyed by a steady stream of visitors and we in turn received information and anecdotes to add to our archive. We’d like to keep the momentum going so in October we will present an exhibition of photographs featuring the area around the crossroads at the centre of the village.

Crossroads are transitory places. Our magnificent church has been around since at least the thirteenth century and the two inns, The Fleece and the Coach and Horses flourished when stage coaches travelled through the village but other buildings have come and gone. Who remembers the Floral Cafe?

If you would like to step into the past; to reminisce or just to see what the village used to look, then come along to the Bothies on the 5th and 6th of October.
